The reimagined Battlestar Galactica was initially unveiled as a science fiction miniseries which was first broadcast on the Sci Fi Channel on December 8, 2003. It was an American show made in Canada and spawned a regular television series which premiered on Sky One in the United Kingdom and Ireland on October 18, 2004, and on Sci Fi Channel in the U.S. on January 14, 2005. The miniseries and all four seasons have been released on DVD. The miniseries and episodes are also available for download in the United States through online services such as the iTunes Store and Xbox Live.
