Glee, Vol. One: Road to Sectionals (2009)



Glee is a musical comedy television series that airs on Fox. It was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan. Murphy and Falchuck serve as executive producers, while Brennan is a co-executive producer. The pilot episode of the show was broadcast after American Idol on May 19, 2009,[1] and the rest of the season began airing on September 9, 2009.[2] Fox initially ordered thirteen episodes of Glee, picking the show up for a full season on September 21, 2009,[3] ordering an additional nine episodes.[4] The remainder of the first season will air from April 13, 2010.[5]The series has been renewed for a second season.[6]

The series focuses on a high school show choir, also known as a glee club, set within the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio.[7] Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) takes over glee club after the former teacher (Stephen Tobolowsky) is fired for inappropriate contact with a male student. Along with a rag-tag group of misfit teenagers, Will attempts to restore the glee club to its former glory, whilst tending to the demands of his wife Terri (Jessalyn Gilsig), his developing feelings for his co-worker Emma (Jayma Mays), and defending glee club's existence from the conniving cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch).
